csfOn November 15, the Senate Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee held a hearing titled, “Examining Funding Needs for Wildlife Conservation, Recovery, and Management,” which covered several important pieces of legislation.

Specifically, the hearing covered the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act (RAWA), The Modernizing the Pittman-Robertson Fund for Tomorrow’s Needs Act, the North American Wetlands Conservation Act (NAWCA), and the Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program.

“Thank you to Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus (CSC) Members, EPW Committee Chairman Senator John Barrasso (WY) and Ranking Member Senator Tom Carper (DE) for holding a hearing on these critical bills that will provide much needed funding and flexibility to state fish and wildlife agencies,” said Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation President Jeff Crane.

Prior to the hearing, several conservation groups sent letters to the Committee requesting support for the bills discussed, including 34 groups from the American Wildlife Conservation Partners, and 65 businesses and organizations within the Alliance for America’s Fish and Wildlife.
