Chairman’s Message: A Look Back on My First Year As Chairman

This time of year, it’s pretty easy to take inventory of the things we are thankful for. For me, the list is too long to rattle off in this article. But, I can’t help looking back on the past 12 months and be thankful for the experience to serve as the Chairman of NASGW. It seems like just yesterday I was writing an introduction to tell you all a little about myself and my background and here we are a year. Where has the time gone?

There’s no doubt that 2017 has been a hectic year in our industry. It seems our country is more divided than ever, natural disasters have taken their toll, we are at odds with foreign foes, and firearms sales have been shaky. Meanwhile, our economy continues to thrive while we are all searching for stability. With all that being said, I am still thankful to be an American, I am thankful for the brave men and women who defend our great nation, I am thankful to work in the shooting sports industry, and I am thankful to be a member of NASGW. I think we can all agree on these.

As we head into December and the Holiday Season, I just want to remind you to keep grinding, keep pushing, keep innovating, and keep striving to get better. Our industry isn’t going anywhere, no matter what the media tells you. Times will get better despite the narrative you are hearing. The partnerships that you have formed through NASGW are there to support you and help you weather the storm. 2018 is right around the corner and with it a new start with fresh ideas and new opportunities.

Thank you to all who have helped make my first year as the Chairman of NASGW so great. I really do appreciate your support and friendship.

Until Next Time,

Brad Burney

NASGW Chairman
