With three new cases filed, several new partnership announcements and a 50th anniversary video series premiere, it’s been a busy month for the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF).
In keeping with SAF’s creed to win firearms freedom one lawsuit at a time, SAF filed three new lawsuits in the past month. The first lawsuit was filed in the Northern District of Texas and challenges the ban on carry in post offices. The second, named Brown v. Paris, challenges Pennsylvania’s ban on carry for young adults 18-20 years old. Known as Jaymes v. Maduros, the third lawsuit is a challenge to California’s 11% excise tax that went into effect at the beginning of July. All three cases are working their way through the system, and you can keep an eye on SAF’s social media channels for any updates.
In addition to the new lawsuits, SAF also announced the release of a new 50th anniversary video series. Titled “Reflections: Five Decades of SAF’s 2A Advocacy,” the series will take viewers on a historical journey of SAF, showcasing its commitment to defend, secure and restore the Second Amendment. Video interviews were conducted with some of the top Second Amendment advocates, scholars and attorneys across the nation who provide a unique history of not only SAF, but Second Amendment case law.
As everyone knows, one of the keys to helping nonprofit organizations continue their mission work is the staunch support of corporate partners, and SAF is pleased to announce several new partnerships and collaborations.
- American Legacy Firearms created a limited series of rifles and pistols to celebrate SAF’s 50th anniversary.
- EOTECH identified SAF as a beneficiary of their new “2A Initiative.” With every purchase made through the program, EOTECH will donate a portion of proceeds to SAF.
- Lipsey’s partnered with SIG SAUER, a SAF Diamond corporate partner, to offer a new, exclusive lineup of SIG P365 pistols with partial proceeds benefiting the Second Amendment Foundation.
- Smith & Wesson has graciously donated a commemorative 1854 Limited rifle paired with a matching Model 29 revolver for SAF’s fundraising efforts. Both the 1854 rifle and Model 29 handgun have been engraved and embellished by famed customization house Baron's Engraving.
- GunBroker, the world's largest online marketplace for firearms, accessories, and ammunition, has joined the organization as a corporate partner at the Gold level.
With more than 55 active cases across the nation – to include a case before the U.S. Supreme Court – it’s the support of companies like these that allow SAF to fight for the Second Amendment freedoms we all hold dear.
