March Legal Update from Second Amendment Foundation

Thanks to NASGW’s great partnership with Second Amendment Foundation, we will providing monthly updates in NASGW's InSight newsletter moving forward to keep the shooting sports industry apprised of Second Amendment Foundation's work.

Since its inception in 1974, SAF has been involved in more than 260 legal cases across the nation and has litigated – and won – cases at the highest levels of the American judicial system. The organization now has 59 active cases across the U.S., all with the goal of protecting our right as Americans to keep and bear arms.

• SAF Wins Summary Judgment In Cal. One Gun A Month Challenge: SAF was granted summary judgement in a federal challenge of California’s One-Gun-A-Month purchase law.
  

• SAF Files Memorandum in Support Of Summary Judgment in NY Carry Law Challenge: Federal lawsuit challenging New York Senate Bill S51001.

• SAF Files Brief in New York Case Prohibiting Electronic Arms: Motion for summary judgment with the U.S. District Court seeking a final resolution to a lawsuit challenging state and municipal laws prohibiting private citizens from possessing and using stun guns and tasers.

• SAF Files Respondents Brief T=to SCOTUS in Frame, Receiver Case: SAF’s challenge to the ATF’s “final rule” redefining frames and receivers as firearms.

• SAF Files for Summary Judgment in Challenge to N.Y. Gun Ban: Challenge to New York’s ban on so-called “assault weapons.”

• SAF Files Brief in Biden Admin. Pistol Brace Appeal: Brief filed in response to Biden administration’s appeal of SAF’s lower court victory in its challenge of the administration’s “final rule” regarding pistol braces.

• SAF Files Reply Brief in Lawsuit Against N.M. Gov. Lujan Grisham: Federal lawsuit challenging New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s prohibition of lawful carrying of arms in Albuquerque and surrounding Bernalillo County.
