Guidance on FFL Disaster Preparedness

Posted by Orchid Advisors on 9/13/18 2:44 PM

orchidIn the upcoming weeks, several hurricanes, tropical systems and torrential rains will have sweeping impact across the nation, including Federal Firearms Licensees (FFLs).  As a result, many Licensees must be prepared for disaster and, if disaster strikes, take decisive action to ensure the security of their business premises and regulated records. ATF has issued a Special Advisory regarding disaster preparedness for FFL Licensees potentially impacted by Hurricane Florence.

To provide further support our industry, Orchid Advisors has disaster considerations documents specifically designed for FFLs available online. These tools, available free of charge, will assist Licensees with pre and post disaster considerations and preparation for future events. While many of these considerations are focused on inventory control, security and records management, safety and guidance from your local authorities should always take precedence.
